Manhattan Locksmith Help! Key Stuck in Deadbolt!

Here is a question that we received from a home owner, John Thompson, in Manhattan, NY:

"Hello Manhattan locksmiths! How are you doing? My house key is stuck in deadbolt, but the lock is still working. I really don't want to break the key inside the lock. Can you help?"

Well, John just described a common locksmith situation - key stuck in deadbolt, but the lock is working. This is what one of our experts had to say:

"John, you can try to take out the key by placing the tip of one finger and pushing on the cylinder part of the lock just beside the key. Then, using your other hand try to remove the key because sometimes the tail piece cap, which is located on the back of the lock cylinder, will get loosened and detach itself. Then, you should be able to take the key out of the keyhole.

You can also spray some oil or silicone based lubricant into the lock mechanism. Sometimes locks need a little lubrication to work properly, and you will be able to remove the key. If you can't release the key after lubrication, then the problem lies in the lock and there is a good chance you will need to replace it.

If you can't remove the key, the locksmiths of Manhattan Locksmith Services will do that for you. Usually, there is no need to buy a new lock because the repairing process is very simple, but if the repairing process is unsuccessful our locksmiths will offer you an affordable alternative.

Saving a lock can be rather complicated in some cases, but be sure to know that Manhattan, NY locksmith services will do anything in their power to save you from unnecessary expenses."
